ALEXANDER JONES, JD, AFSP

Attorney at Law

Alexander Jones was born and raised in Anderson, Texas. He graduated from Madison Heights High School. He attended the Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology and worked as a commercial advertising and wedding photographer. After 13 years working as a photographer, the death of his sister-in-law in 2008 caused him to re-evaluate his career.

Following his own successful self-representation in complex Criminal and Real Estate law matters, including litigating a guardianship case to the Texas Supreme Court and an adoption case to the Texas Court of Appeals, Alexander committed fully to a career in law. He returned to school in 2009, earning his degrees in Political Science and Legal Studies, with a minor in Economics.

Along the way, Alexander completed specialized training as a Domestic Relations Mediator, sponsored by the National Association of Social Workers, and developed extensive expertise in tax law, earning the IRS’s Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) credential and certification as a Small Business Tax Advisor. His early work in taxation and bankruptcy law provided a foundation for his holistic, client-centered approach.

While completing law school, Alexander gained practical experience as a Senior Paralegal for a multi-practice law firm, supporting attorneys across estate planning, bankruptcy, civil litigation, Criminal and Real Estate law, and appellate matters. His hands-on litigation experience and personal understanding of family law disputes shaped his empathetic and strategic approach to client advocacy.

Today, as a licensed Attorney, Alexander practices primarily in Criminal Defense, Real Estate Law, Estate Planning, Tax Law, and Appellate Litigation. His legal writing is a particular strength, having authored over 50 appellate briefs throughout his career. Committed to ongoing professional development, Alexander routinely completes 36-50 hours of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) each year to remain at the forefront of legal trends and case law.

In 2014, Alexander relocated his family back to Texas, where he now serves clients throughout the region. A polyglot fluent in five languages, he brings a global perspective to his practice, enriched by extensive travel through Russia, Japan, Africa, China, Finland, and much of the United States. Outside the courtroom, Alexander is an avid cook, gardener, and food preservationist, often spending his free time canning homegrown produce.
